Flag Football Tournament Overview:

Playing in a flag football tournament offers a valuable opportunity for players to develop essential skills in a competitive, fast-paced environment. This format emphasizes agility, quick decision-making, and team coordination, helping players elevate their game and sharpen their instincts on the field. Offensive players refine their route running, ball handling, and playmaking abilities, while defensive players improve their coverage, positioning, and pursuit angles.

Flag football also encourages a deeper understanding of offensive and defensive strategies, allowing players and coaches to focus on tactical execution without the impact of contact. The tournament setting fosters teamwork, resilience, and game awareness, giving players a solid foundation that complements tackle football skills.

Road to Nationals:

For U14-U16-U18 players, this tournament is more than just a competition; This Football Alberta sanctioned tournament also serves as a qualifier for the Football Canada Club Nationals in August. Team qualification is based on tournament results.

Who can Attend The Flag Football Tournament?

Our league follows Football Canada’s age brackets

• Under 14 (U14) – Years of birth: 2012, 2013. Ages turning in 2025: 12, 13
• Under 16 (U16) – Years of birth: 2010, 2011. Ages turning in 2025: 14, 15
• Under 18 (U18) – Years of birth: 2008, 2009. Ages turning in 2025: 16, 17

Location: Shouldice Athletic Park, Calgary, AB

Date: June 21st – June 22nd

Registration Fee: $600 per team

Age Divisions: U14, U16, U18

Registration Package:

Tournament Entry: Guaranteed a minimum of 4 games per team.

Highlights: Access to filmed highlights capturing memorable moments (weather permitting).

Social Media coverage: Dedicated social media highlights throughout the tournament.

Photos: Access to tournament photography.

Team Requirements:

Teams must have matching jerseys or uppers.

Teams can consist of 7-20 players.
