Who Can Attend Our Football Camp
The RAW Sports Grande Prairie Football Camp is open to athletes ages 8–18 (age as of January 1, 2026). Each age group operates completely separately, with its own age-specific programming, drills, and coaching.
Every athlete trains in an environment tailored to their stage of development. Drills are progressed or regressed based on both age and skill level, ensuring that:
-
Newer players have the support they need to learn the game with confidence.
-
Advanced athletes find another gear — that extra 1% to stay ahead of players across the country. The work they put in here is what separates them now and prepares them to succeed at the next level.
At RAW, we believe that skill development is the foundation for every athlete, no matter their starting point. By meeting players where they are and giving them the right level of challenge, we make sure every athlete leaves camp sharper, more confident, and one step closer to their goals.

Why Attend?
Skill Development First
The offseason is the single biggest opportunity athletes have to improve. While the season lasts only 3–4 months, the offseason stretches 8–9 months — and the athletes who use this time for football skill development gain a massive advantage over their competition.
At RAW, we don’t just give athletes reps — we provide high-impact reps with expert football coaching that multiplies improvement. Every position in football consists of hundreds of micro-skills. This camp is designed to break those skills down, teach them step-by-step, and give athletes the tools they need to succeed at their position.
Position-Specific Training Model
Each day of camp focuses on a specific skill area within your position. Athletes rotate through:
-
Indy Periods – targeted individual drills to refine technical skills.
-
Compete Periods – live, game-like reps that apply the skill of the day.
-
Film Sessions – compete periods are filmed and uploaded to Hudl, giving athletes the chance to analyze their own performance with their coach.
Every position group has a dedicated position-specific coach whose job is to maximize each player’s development and provide the coaching edge that separates athletes from their competition.
Team Install & Competition
Skill is only half the battle — athletes must also know how to succeed in game-like football situations.
Each day features a team install period led by experienced coordinators, where athletes learn how their position fits into an offence or defence. This is followed by team compete periods, where players apply their skills in structured, competitive scenarios.
-
Every day has a different situational theme (1st & 10, 2nd & short, 2nd & long, red zone, etc.), so athletes learn how assignments shift depending on down, distance, and game situation.
-
Athletes build football IQ, adaptability, and confidence by applying their skills under changing conditions.
Quarterbacks Example: On the individual side, QBs develop their footwork, throwing mechanics, accuracy, base, quick game, RPOs, throwing on the run, pocket movement, etc. — reinforced with compete periods and film sessions. On the team side, they learn how to operate a huddle, make pre- and post-snap reads, get the ball out on time, and command an offence. Together, these experiences build complete quarterbacks prepared for both technical mastery and in-game leadership.
Special Periods That Build the Complete Athlete
Beyond position and team training, each day includes a special period designed to sharpen critical skills that directly translate to each athletes success:
-
Pro-Style Combine – Athletes are tested using the same laser timing system used by the NFL, giving families verified results. More importantly, players are taught the mechanics of each drill to maximize performance and improve future combine results. Combine numbers are shared with families.
-
Movement Mechanics – Sprinting technique, deceleration, cutting, juking, and change-of-direction.
-
Core Football Skills – Every player will learn how to tackle, block, and play special teams, ensuring they are prepared to succeed in all aspects of the game.
Safe, Structured Contact – Shells Football
This is a Shells Football Camp: helmets, shoulder pads, and shorts, operating at THUD contact level.
-
Players learn how to block, tackle, and succeed in pads without the risk of full-contact hitting.
-
This format maximizes the benefits of practicing in pads while minimizing injury risk.
-
It also plays a critical role in concussion prevention by teaching proper pad use, safe tackling, and blocking techniques.
Recognition & Motivation
To celebrate growth and competition, the camp will award:
-
Position-Specific MVPs during indy sessions.
-
Offensive & Defensive MVPs from team periods.
