THE RAW SPORTS STORY

In 2008, our father, Tony Woodson Sr., launched ‘Aim High Sports,’ a youth sports organization with a strong emphasis on individual development.

Aim High taught the basic fundamentals of full contact football and leveraged football as a vehicle to teach youth athletes essential life skills such as discipline, hard work, goal-setting, teamwork, compassion, commitment, mental & physical resilience and the enduring value of sportsmanship.

In 2016, the torch was passed to us, we decided to fully devote ourselves to this endeavour and also decided to rebrand – from Aim High Sports to RAW Sports. We possessed a strong passion to give back to the Canadian football game that gave so much to us and helped make us into the men we are today. We envisioned big goals for the future of RAW Sports and although we knew that it would take a lot of work and dedication to make them happen, it was worth the pursuit.

RAW Sports has since expanded from Calgary, providing football camps in Lethbridge, Kelowna, Red Deer, Edmonton and Abbotsford for all youth age groups. This year will be another exciting chapter for the RAW Family!

Some of the most important values we have gained from our playing careers were lessons that football taught us and continues to teach us. This has become the DNA of RAW Sports, using football as a vehicle to teach players the value of hard work, discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and other character building virtues that help players find success on the field and more importantly off the field in their future careers and relationships.

THE TIMELINE

The culmination of 3 mens journey through football, at every level, combined to create the RAW Sports vision, ethos and passion for the game that continues today and is passed on to another generation of players.
