The Five-YEar Path
Four Groups, One Path
Most programs sort athletes by age. This one sorts them by where they actually are. Here are the four groups and what each one is for.
Classes Are Based On High School Graduation Year
Grade 8 Group
Typically Class of 2031
THE JOB
Learn how to train before training hard.
HOW IT WORKS
Their own group and their own space through the winter and spring. Technique before intensity, every time. They join the junior group in the summer block.
Junior Group
Typically Class of 2030 & 2029
THE JOB
Build the engine, and find out what kind of football player you are.
HOW IT WORKS
The full program — gym, field and film together. Tested at the start of the year and again at the end, so progress is measured, not assumed.
Senior Group
Typically Class of 2028 & 2027
THE JOB
Get seen, be ready when you are, and land somewhere.
HOW IT WORKS
Execution. By this point an athlete knows the culture and the standard, and is expected to hold it — contributing to the intensity of the group, not just training in it.
University Group
Already playing post-secondary
THE JOB
Come back and train with the people who built you.
HOW IT WORKS
A separate group on its own schedule. Athletes who finished the path come back to it. That is the proof it works.
How athletes move up
After the spring block, every group sheds its top year and the year below steps up.
Grade 12s move on. Grade 10s move up into the senior group. Grade 8s join the junior group. Everyone who stays becomes the older half of their group — the ones the new athletes learn from.
Most athletes move with their grade. Some move up early, some stay another year, and it is reviewed every year.
What a year looks like
Winter
Class of 2030 train on their own, on fundamentals. The junior and senior groups each train in their own block.
Spring
Class of 2031 and 2027 stay on offseason training. Classes 2030, 2029, and 2028 decide: play spring football, or keep training.
Summer
The groups turn over. Class of 2031 joins the junior group, Class of 2029 move up to senior, and everyone who stays moves up a rank in their own group.
Fall
The school football season. Training moves to supporting what they are already playing.
Post-season
Reset and reload before the next cycle starts.
Grade 12s finish after the spring block.
Most athletes join in grade 9 or 10.
The earlier they start, the less
catching up they do.
How you get a spot
Athletes already in the program get first claim on the next block, every time. We hold a small number of openings between blocks for new athletes, but they are limited, and the athletes already with us come first.
What We’re trying to do
Great athletes. Better people.
Accountability, consistency and structure. That is what develops an athlete, and it is not something one good session in July can do.
The program exists so a Calgary athlete can chase post-secondary football and an education at the same time, without their family having to assemble the pieces themselves. Strength coach, field coach, film room, academic advising, recruiting support. One place, one plan, one staff who know the athlete.
What this isn't
- Not a showcase mill.
- Not drop-in training.
- Not a place to buy exposure.
How it’s built
One program, not three services
You can’t take just the lifting part. What happens in the gym, on the field and in the film room is decided together, by the people who coach all three.
Gym
Strength, speed and the standard
A world-class facility, but the reason it works is how many coaches are on the floor, not the building.
field
Football applied
Positional work, coached by position, and the thing the film sessions are about.
Film
Their own tape, not generic tape
Film studies the athlete’s own field sessions. That’s why field and film travel together, and why film starts in grade 9 once there’s a season worth studying.
All three departments agree what a block is for before any of it gets written.
Also Included:
Nutrition sessions
Summer camp entry
Mentorship access
The Proof
Who runs it, and where it ends
The Coaches
The people on the floor are the program.
