RAW ELITE TRAINING IS COMING TO EDMONTON

Eight months of strength, speed and conditioning inside the University of Alberta’s Sport Performance Centre, coached by Golden Bears football athletes. Built for Edmonton players in the classes of 2027 to 2030.

$3,937.50 · 95 sessions · Jan 5 to Aug 13 · 40 spots

RAW Elite Training is the program behind twenty athletes moving on to U SPORTS football from our Calgary group in the last two years. In 2027 it comes to Edmonton. It is not a gym membership with a coach in the room. From January to August, athletes are trained, tested, held accountable and supported off the field, by people who have walked the path they are on.

20 athletes to U SPORTS football in two years from our Calgary program.

The environment

Every session runs at the Sport Performance Centre in the Saville Community Sports Centre, on the University of Alberta campus. The coaching staff includes varsity athletes from the Golden Bears football program. Three nights a week, your athlete trains in a university facility, around people who play the level they are working toward, and is held to the standard that level expects.

That environment, and the culture it builds inside a group capped at forty, is a big part of what changes an athlete over eight months. They learn what showing up properly looks like by being around it.

What’s included

Train

Strength, power and speed

Ninety-five coached sessions, ninety minutes each, written by professional sports performance and football coaches to build muscle mass, strength, explosiveness and power. Speed and agility development is coached in the gym every week, alongside the lifting, not left for athletes to figure out on their own.

Measure

Testing in the first and last weeks

A full strength and agility battery: 5-10-5, 40-yard dash, vertical jump, broad jump, bench press, squat and pull-ups. Athletes keep their numbers, so what changed over eight months is measured, not guessed at.

Accountability

Held to a standard

Attendance and effort are tracked, and athletes are held accountable to their training and to the habits outside the gym that decide whether it sticks. Performance incentives reward the athletes who do the work.

Off the field

Support beyond the gym

  • ✓Academic support, because grades decide university options as much as film does
  • ✓Nutrition guidance to fuel training and put on the right kind of size
  • ✓Mobility and recovery resources to stay healthy across eight months of work
  • ✓Recruiting resources from the program that has sent twenty athletes to U SPORTS in two years

Gear

RAW training shirts

Every athlete is outfitted in RAW training shirts for the year.

How the year runs

Block 1, January 5 to May 1. Fifty-one sessions. Tuesday and Thursday evenings 7:30 to 9:00 PM, and Saturday mornings 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Baseline testing in the first week.

Block 2, May 3 to August 13. Forty-four sessions. Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings 6:00 to 7:30 PM. Exit testing in the last week, heading into the fall season.

No session on Victoria Day, Monday, May 24. Every other date runs. Be straight with your athlete about the commitment: three sessions a week for eight months. The athletes who get the most out of this are the ones who show up consistently.

Who it’s for

Edmonton football players in the graduating classes of 2027 to 2030, currently in grades 9 to 12, who want to play at the next level and are ready to train like it. The program is full-length only: both blocks, January to August.

Questions parents ask

Will this get my athlete recruited?
No program can promise a roster spot. What we can promise is the work, the numbers to show for it, and the recruiting resources and guidance behind twenty Calgary athletes moving on to U SPORTS in the last two years.
Why is registration due by November 30?
Facility time and coaching staff are booked for the whole year before the first session. Registering by November 30 lets us lock the calendar and the staff for all ninety-five sessions.
Can we spread the cost out?
Yes. Pay up-front with Credit/Debit, or choose Affirm at checkout to split your payments into monthly instalments. Your athlete’s spot is held either way.
Can we register for just one block?
No. The program is built as one progression from January to August, with testing in the first and last weeks, so it is sold as the full program only.
How much time does it take each week?
Four and a half hours on site, three ninety-minute sessions a week.
What does my athlete need to bring?
Training clothes, indoor training shoes and a water bottle. RAW training shirts are provided.
What if they miss a session?
Tell a coach ahead of time, and they pick up where the group is at the next session. Consistent attendance is what decides what the exit test looks like.
What is the refund policy?
This is a long program with ninety-five scheduled sessions, so the long-program section of the RAW Sports Refund Policy applies. Send any request in writing to simon@rawsports.ca. The date we receive it decides which tier applies.
