Every once in a while, an athlete comes along who doesn’t just meet expectations. He shatters them. Xander Odenyo is that athlete.
The Calgary native has officially earned a 4-star recruiting rating from 247Sports, placing him #217 nationally and #36 among wide receivers in the 2028 class. For a Canadian athlete, that’s rare. And for us at RAW Sports, it’s a moment we’re incredibly proud of.
But this isn’t an overnight story. It’s years of work.
Built in Calgary, Bound for the Next Level
Xander’s journey started right here at home, developing through the South Calgary Colts, Calgary Cowboys, and St. Francis High School. He represented Team Alberta at the Football Canada Cup, proving early that he could compete with the best in the country.
To take his game to the next level, he made the move to Tabor Academy in Marion, Massachusetts. And he hasn’t looked back.
Why Xander Odenyo is a Division 1 Recruit
At 6’3″ and 200 pounds, Xander is the kind of receiver that defensive coordinators lose sleep over. He can stretch the field vertically, win contested catches at the catch point, and create yards after the catch.
The recruiting world has taken notice. With 8 Division 1 offers from Syracuse, Duke, Wake Forest, Penn State, Arkansas, Virginia Tech, Boston College, and UMass, the message is clear. This is a player programs want.
Breaking the Canadian Recruiting Barrier
Canadian athletes don’t always get the exposure they deserve. The pipeline to major U.S. programs is narrow, and for most prospects, even getting looked at takes something extraordinary.
Xander didn’t just get noticed. He broke through. Reaching 4-star status puts him in a very small group of Canadian athletes to ever achieve it at this level.
A RAW Sports Athlete Since Age 8
We’ve had the privilege of working with Xander since he was eight years old. His development has been built through years of training, competition, and film work. Moments like this are exactly why we do what we do.
Xander’s story is still being written. But this chapter is a good one
