Who Can Attend?

  • Football athletes ages 13–18

  • All positions welcome

  • The program will be capped at 12 athletes for the 2026 Winter Block

Program Structure (2026)

  • Length: 9 weeks

Program Dates:
Start Date: Monday, January 19
End Date: Friday, March 27

Format:
In-person training


Weekly Training Schedule

Strength & Conditioning (Gym Sessions):

  • Monday: 5:45 – 7:15 PM

  • Wednesday: 6:45 – 8:15 PM

  • Friday: 4:00 – 5:30 PM

Speed Sessions (Track Lanes):

  • Tuesday: 3:45 – 5:15 PM

What the Program Includes

The RAW Sports Medicine Hat Winter Training Program delivers a comprehensive, age-appropriate football development curriculum designed to improve performance, durability, and long-term athletic development.


Strength & Conditioning

  • Structured resistance training focused on football-specific strength and power

  • Emphasis on proper technique and safe movement patterns

  • Exercises may include squats, deadlifts, presses, Olympic-style movements, and accessory lifts

  • Development of muscular and cardiovascular endurance to support late-game performance

  • Mobility and flexibility training to improve range of motion and reduce injury risk


Speed & Agility

  • Progressive speed development focused on acceleration mechanics

  • Linear sprint work utilizing indoor track lanes

  • Lateral movement, change-of-direction, and agility work

  • Designed to translate strength and power gains into functional on-field speed


Training Environment & Values

As with all RAW Sports programs, sessions emphasize competitive fun in a structured but engaging environment. Athletes are challenged, supported, and coached with intent.

Key areas of emphasis include:

  • Teamwork and leadership

  • Respect and sportsmanship

  • Goal setting and mental toughness

Training is led by experienced RAW Sports coaches with backgrounds in CFL, U SPORTS (CIS), high school football, and NCCP-certified environments.

  • 4 coached sessions per week (3 lift + 1 speed)
