Saskatchewan’s 2026 RAW Summer Camp MVPs

RAW Summer Camp 2026 · Saskatoon

One Week.
Nine MVPs.

Four are Saskatoon kids. The rest came in from Melville, North Battleford and Moose Jaw. They all left with hardware. Meet the athletes who owned the week at the 2026 RAW Saskatoon Summer Camp.

9 Awards One Week Classes of 2027 to 2029 Saskatoon, SK

Nobody hands out an MVP medal on day one. At a RAW camp you earn it in the reps nobody films: the third one-on-one of the morning, the drill you lost yesterday, the walk back to the line when your legs are done.

Over a week in Saskatoon, nine athletes did exactly that. Different positions, different hometowns, different dreams. Same habit.

Here is the class.

Ian Schicker

Asked what winning the camp’s top offensive award meant, he needed one word.

Hometown
Melville, SK
Grad Year

Three Words
Fast, strong, competitive
Best Memory
Playing at the Football Canada Cup
The Goal
A successful post-secondary football career

“Cool.”

Ian Schicker, on winning Offensive MVP

Nine camps, dozens of athletes, and nobody else answered that question in a single syllable. Ian is class of 2027 out of Melville, he has already played at the Football Canada Cup, and he describes himself as fast, strong and competitive.

He went out and was the best offensive player in the building for a week. Then he summed it up in four letters. Some players talk. Ian is the other kind.

Quarterback MVP

Traeten Potvin

Two RAW quarterback awards, and a job title instead of a dream school.

Three Words
Confident, tough, a winner
Hardware
Best QB at RAW, twice · MVP, 14U Sask Selects
The Goal
Starting quarterback in the CFL

Ask most athletes about the future and you get a school. Traeten named a job: starting quarterback in the CFL. That is a different kind of answer, and it fits a kid who put himself down as confident, tough, a winner.

The record is starting to back it up. This is his second Best QB award at a RAW camp, on top of an MVP with the 14U Sask Selects. And his favourite football memory involves winning a championship in Florida with his travel team, which tells you he has already been further than most players his age.

“Confident, tough, a winner.”

Receiver MVP

Chase Chambers

His favourite football memories are not on the field.

Hardware
Most Improved Player, Schoenhals Titans, 2023 · Player of the Game, Week 1 academy football
The Goal
Keep playing, and put in work every day

Asked for his best football memories, Chase did not pick a catch or a win. He picked the locker room and the bus to away games. Every coach reading this knows those are the parts players actually remember twenty years later.

The on-field record is going the right way regardless. Most Improved Player with the Schoenhals Titans in 2023, Player of the Game in his first week of academy football, and now the best receiver at a RAW camp. Determined, competitive, coachable, and the middle award on that list is the one that predicts the other two.

“Determined, competitive, coachable.”

Defensive Line MVP

Reid Grosjean

Determined, dedicated, and, in his own word, sturdy.

Three Words
Determined, dedicated, sturdy
The Goal
A university team, or another football organization
Off the Field
Agricultural mechanic or heavy-duty mechanic

Nine camps’ worth of athletes described themselves and exactly one used the word sturdy. For a defensive lineman it is close to perfect. Nobody asks a D-lineman to be elegant.

Reid is class of 2029, so he has time, and his favourite football memories are summer camps themselves: the chance to learn from coaches who all teach it differently. He is also the only athlete this summer who named a trade alongside the football plan. Agricultural mechanic, or heavy-duty mechanic. Two careers, both of which reward showing up.

His takeaway from the award was the most useful thing any MVP said all summer: believe in yourself, keep showing up, and give your best when it gets hard.

“Determined, dedicated, sturdy.”

Defensive MVP

Ami Neufeld

The camp’s top defensive player.

Across a week of competition against a deep defensive group, Ami was the one the staff kept coming back to. Defensive MVP is the biggest award on that side of the ball, and it went to him.

Running Back MVP

Davian Brown

Downhill, all week.

Running back is the position where the tape settles the argument. Davian ran through a full week of live work against a defence that knew what was coming and kept getting what he wanted.

Offensive Line MVP

Vince Ledon

The week’s most thankless job, done best.

Nobody films the offensive line and nobody thanks them until something goes wrong. Vince spent a full week making sure nothing did, and the staff noticed.

Linebacker MVP

Andrew Barrett

Wherever the ball went, he got there.

That is the whole job description at linebacker, and Andrew did it rep after rep. A week of competition against a talented group, and the defence kept running through the middle of him.

Defensive Back MVP

Kisu Oluwabiyi

The toughest matchup in the building.

Corner is the one position where every mistake is public. Kisu lined up across from the best receivers at camp all week, took the hardest assignment on the field, and kept winning his share of it.

The Next Chapter

Nine athletes. Nine different routes. A quarterback aiming straight at the CFL, a receiver whose favourite memories are the bus rides, and a defensive lineman with a trade lined up alongside the football.

What they share is the thing no award can hand you: they got better this week, on purpose.

Congratulations to Ian, Ami, Traeten, Davian, Chase, Vince, Reid, Andrew and Kisu. We will be watching this season.
