Deane Leonard continues to cement his legacy

With the 236th pick of the 2022 NFL Draft, The LA Chargers selected Calgary football product Deane Leonard! Deane will join Canadians Tevaughn Campbell, Christian Covington, Amen Ogbongbemiga, and Ryan Hunter on the Chargers to form the largest collection of Canadian players on an NFL roster.

Deane’s football journey started in Calgary as a part of the Mavericks football club, he then went on to play for the Notre Dame Pride in high school. To begin his post secondary career, Deane took his talents to the University of Calgary Dinos, where he was a 2x all-Canadian and helped the Dinos become national champions in 2019. In 2020, the USports season was cancelled. At this point, Deane transferred to Ole Miss to play for the Rebels football team. During his two years with the Rebels, Deane racked up 64 total tackles, 11 pass deflections, and 1 fumble recovery.

Deane participated in our flagship camp, the Calgary Spring Youth Football Camp, as well as our Calgary High School Prep program in its inaugural year. We are proud to be a small part of Deane’s football journey and are excited to see his continued success as a member of the NFL.
