RAW Summer Camp 2026 · Fraser Valley
One Week.
Nine MVPs.
Four of the nine came out of Chilliwack. The rest came in from Abbotsford, Mission, Langley and Maple Ridge. They all left with hardware. Meet the athletes who owned the week at the RAW Fraser Valley Summer Camp.
Nobody hands out an MVP medal on day one. At a RAW camp you earn it in the reps nobody films: the third one-on-one of the morning, the drill you lost yesterday, the walk back to the line when your legs are done.
Over a week in the Fraser Valley, nine athletes did exactly that. Different positions, different hometowns, different dreams. Same habit.
Here is the class.
The Roll Call
Jackson Williams
He called his shot before camp started, then went and got it.
- Hometown
- Abbotsford, BC
- Three Words
- Determined, wise, dedicated
- The Goal
- To be a true freshman at the next level
- Best Memory
- Winning the AA Championship in Grade 9, 50 to 8
Most athletes show up to camp hoping to have a good week. Jackson showed up with a specific award in mind and told us so afterward: he had decided he was winning Offensive MVP before he ever set foot on the field.
That is a risky thing to do. Saying it out loud means the whole week is measured against it. Determined, wise, dedicated is how he puts himself, and the first of those three is what turns a stated goal into a trophy instead of an embarrassment.
“Before the camp I aimed to win offensive MVP, and it motivated me to achieve that.”
Jackson Williams
Timothy O’Shea
The quarterback who already knew.
- Hometown
- Mission, BC
- Grad Year
- 2027
- Three Words
- Coachable, creative, personable
- Hardware
- 1st Team Conference All-Star, AA/AAA
- The Goal
- University of Alberta
- Backup Plan
- A “tuff” construction worker, in his words
Every athlete at every camp gets asked what the award means to them. Timothy is the only one who answered by explaining what it did not mean, and it is the sharpest thing anybody said all summer.
“It meant absolutely nothing in the best way possible. All it did was recognize the hard work I knew I had already put in during practices, and taking care of my body. It assures me that the hard work does come to light regardless of how long it takes.”
Timothy O’Shea
He is class of 2027 and a 1st Team Conference All-Star, chasing a spot at the University of Alberta. And if football does not work out, he has thought about that too: a career as a, quote, tuff construction worker.
Marcus Ram Myers
Back to back, and not shy about it.
- Hometown
- Abbotsford, BC
- Grad Year
- 2028
- Three Words
- Electric, vocal, team player
- Hardware
- Best Running Back at RAW, two years running
Ask Marcus for his favourite football memory and he does not reach for a game. He reaches for this award, twice, because winning it back to back is the thing he is proudest of.
Electric, vocal, team player is how he describes himself, and the middle one is not an accident. Marcus is not quiet about what he can do, and after two straight years of backing it up, he has earned the right not to be.
“It just means that I worked everyone else.”
Marcus Ram Myers
Bear Deacon
The best linebacker in the valley, and he will tell you so.
- Hometown
- Chilliwack, BC
- Grad Year
- 2028
- Three Words
- Physical, smart, leader
- Hardware
- Defensive Player of the Year, three times · one MVP
- The Goal
- U SPORTS, then the CFL
Three Defensive Player of the Year awards. An MVP on top. Physical, smart, leader, in that order, which is roughly the order a linebacker needs them in.
His favourite football memory is not a play or a game. It is a whole season.
“My entire sophomore season was probably the best time of my life.”
The plan from here is U SPORTS first, then the CFL. Given the hardware already on the shelf, that is less of a dream than a schedule.
“Means a lot to know I’m the best linebacker in the valley.”
Bear Deacon
Asher DeWolfe
Right track, more work to do.
- Hometown
- Maple Ridge, BC
- Grad Year
- 2028
- Two Words
- Relentless, hard working
- Hardware
- 4 Pillars Award · Academic award
- The Goal
- Play in the States, and take it as far as it goes
Nine MVPs were asked what the award meant. Eight of them celebrated. Asher checked his position on a map and noted how far there still is to go, which tells you why he keeps winning things.
The awards on his shelf say something too. A 4 Pillars Award and an academic award are not the ones that show up on a highlight reel, and he listed them first. Relentless and hard working is how he sums himself up. The plan is to play in the States and see how far it runs.
“To me it means I’m getting on the right track, but there is still work to be done.”
Asher DeWolfe
Niko Ardon
The camp’s top defensive player.
Across a week of competition against a deep defensive group, Niko was the one the staff kept coming back to. Defensive MVP is the biggest award on that side of the ball, and it went to him.
Jackson Gamboa
Separation, every rep.
One-on-ones are the most public drill at any camp, win or lose in front of everybody. Jackson spent the week on the right side of that ledger often enough that the receiver award was not a close call.
Max Keiner
The week’s most thankless job, done best.
Nobody films the offensive line and nobody thanks them until something goes wrong. Max spent a full week making sure nothing did, and the staff noticed.
Maddox Babchishin
Pressure up front, all week long.
Interior pressure changes everything behind it. Maddox spent the week making the quarterback’s clock run faster than it was supposed to, and the rest of the defence got to play easier because of it.
The Next Chapter
Nine athletes, four of them from one city. Nine different routes. One who announced his target before camp and hit it, one who has won the same award two years straight, and one who says the trophy told him nothing he did not already know.
What they share is the thing no award can hand you: they got better this week, on purpose.
Congratulations to Jackson Williams, Niko, Timothy, Marcus, Jackson Gamboa, Max, Maddox, Bear and Asher. We will be watching this season.
